The Kogi State Police Commissioner, Wilson Inalegwu has ordered a full scale investigation into Tuesday’s invasion of the State Assembly by suspected thugs.
Reports had it on Tuesday that some heavily armed men invaded the Kogi State House of Assembly Complex, locked up the premises, thereby preventing plenary from taking place.
It was alleged that despite the presence of policemen and earlier assurance by the commissioner that plenary would be peaceful, the thugs shut down the Assembly and injured many. This has since raised suspicion that the police was part of the initial plot.
But reacting in a statement issued by the Command’s Spokesman, Mr Williams Aya, the CP denied involvement, saying anyone found culpable would be made to face the full wrath of the law.
